On October 20, University of the Arts’ Visiting Writers Series welcomes Pulitzer Prize winner, Gregory Pardlo. During his visit, Pardlo will give a public reading that is free and open to the public.
Pardlo, who was born in Philadelphia, won the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his collection Digest, which was also shortlisted for the 2015 NAACP Image Award and the Hurston-Wright Legacy Award. He has had fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts and the New York Foundation for the Arts, and now teaches in the MFA program in Creative Writing at Rutgers University-Camden.
UArts’ Visiting Writers Series, sponsored by the University’s Creative Writing Program, brings acclaimed contemporary writers – poets, novelists, short story writers and screenwriters to campus each year. This event is part of a series celebrating the University’s 140th Anniversary.
