Please join us in welcoming Duo Zingaresca on February 11th at the Cultural Center Shaare Shamayim for their one and only performance in Philadelphia. They celebrate their 10th collaborative year providing the public with colorful performances of Classical, Russian, and Roma (Gypsy) song and dance!
The duo consists of Russian 7-string classical guitar revivalist Dr. Oleg Timofeyev and celebrated Russian-Roma guitar virtuoso Vadim Kolpakov. The pair have made it their goal to recreate the nostalgia of traditional Russian 7-string guitar as well as invite new musical styles with Romany and Jewish influences. This ensemble blends the sophistication of classical music with the fiery and passionate enthusiasm of folk song and culture.
From universities, restaurants, and guitar festivals, Duo Zingaresca offers memorable, educational, and enthusiastic performances. Their diverse and animated repertoire includes the rare publications of Mikhail Vysotsky, arrangements of Sergei Orekhov, and original compositions of Kolpakovs own renowned uncle, Alex Kolpakov.
Be sure to catch this duo in a once-in-a-lifetime concert experience of history, passion, nostalgia, and love.
