WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? 3 performances

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?

Is an Audience Immersion Performance, Presented by the Cannonball Hub, Philly Fringe Festival ‘25

Runs: 60 minutes on September 1st, 4th, and 17th at Asian Arts Initiative, 1219 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107

"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?" Is a question we may have asked ourselves or been asked in a condescending sort of way.

Everyone is born with that something that makes them unique. Some talent, some passion, some heart's desire that perhaps was never spoken out loud, lest the delicate dream disappear and disappointment becomes the fuel that forms a life. Life "happens" and takes us away from that dream. But what if life happens FOR us, rather than TO us?

WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?      Is an audience immersion journey that explores the possibility that what makes one "wierd" may be the very thing that is the passion underneath our heart's desire. Our voice may be that unique attribute that gives us the power and courage to fully express ourselves in the world.

With help from the audience, Rose Love can realize her childhood dream. In the process, audience members will explore their own dreams and have the opportunity to express their own unique voices in a chorus of joy.

Due to the nature of some scenes depicting childhood trauma and loss through death, WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE? may not be suitable for young children

Irene Foley-Chort (Rose Love) is a native of Atlantic City arriving in Philly by way of Portland, Oregon. Her play, Earth School about the afterlife and beyond, was produced by Atlantic Cape Community College years ago. She's played various characters including children's theater. Her most recent acting credits are Fearlandia Haunts in Portland, Oregon, and The Murder Mystery Company/American Immersion Theater, Philadelphia. You may encounter Irene as Rose, drawing aura portraits, and providing uplifting vibrational drumming, singing and spreading love at street festivals and parks throughout Philly.

"The character of Rose Love is inspired by my oldest son Mike, who has given me roses in many forms and other unmistakable gifts since he passed away in 2016. Rose's journey reflects my own in many ways, but it is uniquely hers."

"My commitment is to create and share work that inspires people to look outside the box of conventional thinking to discover a whole new possibility of what it means to be alive and in the process, joyfully express themselves without fear."
