Asian Art Initiative's 25th Anniversary season hosts an exciting array of performances and exhibits for our neighborhood of Chinatown North as well as the rest of Philadelphia. Come experience and help us in continuing to create the community we have built for over two decades through the power of art.
Sunday events include:
Peace Light
Installation and Performance by Sueyeun Juliette Lee with collaborative performance by Jungwoong Kim
448 N 10th Street, 2nd Floor
Chinatown North, 12 p.m.
Motivated by urgent issues of Korea’s well being and a desire “to bridge what happens on the Korean Peninsula and our lives here,” Sueyeun Juliette Lee's installation features a large-scale installation of lanterns designed by Kai Wei Hsu. A large weather balloon will float overhead, against which she'll project a video piece dedicated to crossing impossible spaces, connection, and peace.
Then and Now and (ex)CHANGE installations will continue to be on view.
