Signe Wilkinson, editorial cartoonist for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Philadelphia Daily News, was the first woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning. Her work is described as having a "unique style and famous irreverence".
Signe has also created cartoons for Ms. Magazine, Working Woman, and the Friends Journal. She’s been honored with a Visionary Woman Award from Moore College of Art & Design, four Overseas Press Club Awards and two Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Awards for Cartooning.
Proceeds from the event will benefit educational programs on the importance of women’s contributions to all segments of American society. Activities supported by the Fund include the Alice Paul Institute’s Girls Leadership Council (www.alicepaul.org), the Burlington County League of Women Voters’ Ready to Run Program which encourages high school girls to become involved in the political process as well as the Center for American Women in Politics (CAWP).
