Improvisation Class

This 6 week class will focus on how to effectively adjust acting choices within an audition session. It will also address the skills required to take direction and produce variations in performance behavior 'on demand' during those sessions. The class --which will include simulated audition situations-- is designed to strengthen your improvisational ability and free you from reliance on the script.

Many times a client, ad agency or casting director won't know exactly what they're looking for until they see it. Auditions are their time to experiment, and the talent is their raw material. The actor who can easily respond to direction, is adept at making adjustments and can flexibly work within a range of interpretations may have the best chance at landing the role.
Meet the Instructor:

Gene Terruso worked alongside Sanford Meisner over two years in Hollywood and has now been teaching the process for over 25 years. Gene is a former Director of the School of Theatre Arts at Philadelphia's University of the Arts and President of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (New York and Hollywood). He brings to his classes his own experience as both a film actor and director and has taught on-camera technique for narrative production, industrial, and commercial work both locally and in Chicago since 1989. Wickline Casting is fortunate to have this stellar instructor here to offer such a widely sought and rarely offered course.
