School is out, but MODS’ Camp STEAMology: Into the Earth is in!
Children ages 5 – 10 will explore the Earth by digging into the soil and get growin. Learn about the layers beneath the Earth: soil, limestone and clay and fabricate different soil types for plants to grow. Campers will learn about the Florida aquifer system and build their own aquifer testing materials that separate and filter sediments and pollutants.
South Florida’s award-winning attraction features 150,000 square feet of dynamic science exhibits, an outdoor science park, a live animal collection, a rotating schedule of science shows, learning labs, café, store and a grand atrium featuring the Great Gravity Clock, a 52-foot-tall kinetic energy sculpture; the largest clock in Florida. The showpiece of the museum since 1993, this unique timepiece is one of only three in the world.
Children can also visit and investigate underwater marvels in MODS’ Voyage to the Deep – Underwater Adventures, a new traveling exhibit. “Seas” the day and embark on the legendary Nautilus submarine with Captain Nemo for an interactive journey of underwater exploration!
Presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Camp STEAMology one-day camp costs $60 for members and $70 for non-members. Aftercare tuition is $15 per child. For a multi-child discount, save $10 off the total by using code “10off” at check out. Registration is required at mods.org/campdiscovery.
