Varijashree Venugopal at GroundUP Music Festival
The GroundUP Music Festival returns for its 10th anniversary to the oceanfront Miami Beach Bandshell, March 13-15! Presented by the GroundUP Music Foundation and co-founded by Michael League of Snarky Puppy and veteran arts leader Paul Lehr, the festival celebrates a decade of boundary-pushing performances and meaningful musical exchange.
GroundUP Music Festival stands tall in the Miami music scene, offering a festival experience like no other. Known for its relaxed, intimate atmosphere and bold, genre-defying lineups, GroundUP creates a laid-back oasis of true community just steps from the sands of Miami Beach. Unlike most festivals that focus on a single genre, GroundUP pairs unexpected sounds and artists into a seamlessly authentic program, allowing each performer’s story to shine.
Varijashree Venugopal is a Grammy-nominated flautist and vocalist known for her unique ability to use the voice as an instrument and to blend her musicality with various music cultures, using the Carnatic (South-Indian) tradition she studied as a native of Bangalore. Varijashree has been featured alongside and collaborated with eminent musical personalities in the world, such as Bobby McFerrin, Michael League (Snarky Puppy), Victor Wooten, Béla Fleck, Hamilton de Holanda, Eddie Gomez, C4 trio, Trio Bobo, Anat Cohen, Praveen D Rao, Jacob Collier, Anoushka Shankar, and more. Varijashree Venugopal will appear as part of the Snarky Puppy family dinner on Saturday, March 14.
