The Sunshine Jazz Organization, in our 37th Season, presents our new monthly series entitled "1st Fridays Live Jazz at the Lyric" . On Friday, April 5th we will feature the wonderful, soulful songstress "LaVie" at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater in Overtown, Miami. We will also be celebrating International Jazz Month as well! Our featured artist LaVie released her debut album titled "Life Music", filled with inspirational songs, featuring the single "Alive," which has touched the hearts of listeners since 2014 and remains a fan favorite. In 2015, LaVie embarked on The Maestro East Coast Tour, performing in 10 major cities across the nation, including New York City, Boston, D.C., Chicago, Detroit, and Pittsburgh. As the opening act for KyMani Marley, son of Bob Marley, LaVie enthralled thousands of fans with her performances. In 2016 she released her single "Queen," drawing inspiration from her Caribbean heritage and she had the opportunity to share the stage with artists such as Usher, Janelle Monae, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, the Average White Band, and more at Jazz in the Gardens. In 2023, LaVie returned to Jazz in the Gardens, opening for Keisha Cole, Sean Paul, Charlie and Erykah Badu. LaVie is the Founder and President of Give Thanks, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to providing social services for children in need. With her captivating stage presence and infectious personality, LaVie serves as a shining example of living life to the fullest.
