Community-Based Connections, Inc. (CBCI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to delivering youth development, family strengthening, and community empowerment services to underserved populations, invites couples to reconnect, rekindle, and grow during its FREE Stronger Together Couples Conference on Saturday, September 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at New Mount Olive Baptist Church (400 NW 9th Avenue in Fort Lauderdale). Married, dating or co-parenting couples will get the tools they need to help strengthen relationships, improve communication, rebuild trust, and support healthier families from award-winning speakers and counselors.
The thought-provoking event with host Mikelange Olbel, president/CEO of Community-Based Connections, Inc, will include interactive panel discussions and a complimentary breakfast.
Rev. Dr. Marcus D. Davidson, senior pastor of New Mount Olive Baptist Church and an adjunct professor and preaching fellow for the Voice for Change Preaching Initiative at Palm Beach Atlantic University & Lady Yvokia Davidson, director of outreach and missions at New Mount Olive Baptist Church will lead the “Reconnect & Rekindle” interactive session designed to help participants reconnect, strengthen communication, renew affection, and identify a meaningful next step for their relationship or family.
Inspirational speakers Apostle Ron Harper & Lady Stephanie Harper, leaders and founders of I Am Kingdom Ministries, Michael Drummond, founder & CEO, Technicom Sales and Services, Inc. and Technicom Media Group, Inc., U.S. Army Veteran & Arlene Connelly Drummond, founder & CEO, ISEE Group, LLC, executive strategist & certified coach, and Dr. Linda Parker, president and CEO of Women in Distress & Antoine Parker will lead the “Living United” panel. Attendees will learn from them sharing practical insights on remaining unified through conflict, cultural pressures, social media, parenting demands, and other challenges that can affect family stability. The session will be moderated by Latoya Gonzalez, senior underwriter at Amerant Bank.
Dr. Aaron J. McLeod, Esq., founder McLeod Legal Advisors, Difference Makers Asset Protection, LLC, The Legacy Coaching Institute, NPF, and Samaritans For The Common Good, NFP plus pastor of Lula B. Sherman United Methodist Church in Evanston, Illinois, Dr. Kimm R. Campbell, LCSW, and Venita Fields, partner with Pelham S2K Managers, LLC will address “The Resilient Couple Blueprint” – a discussion on navigating adversity and change while balancing marriage, careers, and entrepreneurship; supporting one another's goals; managing competing responsibilities; celebrating shared success; and protecting their connection at home. The session will be moderated by Olbel.
All families in Broward and Palm Beach counties are eligible, including single parents (fathers and mothers), co-parenting partners, married or unmarried couples, expectant parents, and adults seeking to strengthen relationships, communication, or family dynamics. There are no income restrictions, and participants may self-refer or be referred by partner agencies.
