Night Two of our Puppet Slam Weekend - Saturday, July 19th features two full-length puppet spectaculars ready to snatch your soul and your wig:
“UNRAVELING” - By Shadow Girls Cult. A cinematic shadow puppet experience that blurs the line between the sacred and the surreal. It weaves together poignant tales that encompass longing, loneliness, identity, grief, and the queer experience through a surreal lens. The show is performed entirely live with two performers and incorporates 3 overhead projectors, over 200 shadow puppets, shadow masks, live animation techniques, human silhouettes, & liquid light techniques to create haunting dreamscapes.
“Church of the Auntie Christ” - Welcome to church! This glam gospel tale stars local drag weirdo Miss Texas 1988 as a mixed-up Christian woman who winds up in a "church" of queers, choir leaders, and peculiar sunday-school students. Come for the communion, stay for the homoeroticism. The Church of the Auntie Christ returns... again!
