Steph Jagger with Brianna Madia

Local memoirist Steph Jagger celebrates the paperback release of Everything Left to Remember with fellow memoirist of the open road, Brianna Madia. Everything Left to Remember: My Mother, Our Memories, and a Journey Through the Rocky Mountains is a heart wrenching and inspirational memoir about a woman and her mother, who is suffering from dementia, as they embark on a road trip through national parks, revisiting the memories, and the mountains, that made them who they are. An adventure full of horseback riding, hiking, and “tenting” out West quickly turns into one woman’s reflection on childhood, motherhood, personhood—and what it means to love someone who doesn’t quite remember the person she spent her lifetime becoming. A staggeringly beautiful examination of how stories are passed down through generations and from Mother Nature, Everything Left to Remember brings us the wisdom of who our memories make us under the constellations of the vast Montana sky. Steph Jagger is a sought-after mentor and coach whose offerings guide people toward a deeper understanding of themselves and their stories. Her work, including speaking and facilitating, is rooted in initiation and feminine rites of passage. She is obsessed with recreation, re-creation, and the nature of deep remembrance. Steph grew up in Vancouver, Canada and currently lives and works on Bainbridge Island, WA. Everything Left to Remember is Steph’s second book. Her first, Unbound, also a memoir, was published in 2017. Brianna Madia has lived a life of relentless intention, traveling the deserts of the American Southwest in an old Ford van. She made a name for herself on social media with her inspiring captions cum- essays about bravery, identity, nature, and subverting expectations. She lives in Utah with her four dogs. Nowhere for Very Long is her first book.
