Seattle Sings 2025 - You Created A Song

The Seattle choral community announces the return of Seattle Sings VI, a vibrant three-day festival celebrating the power of choral music, happening October 23-25, 2025, at Seattle First Baptist Church 1111 Harvard Ave, Seattle WA 98122. This biennial event promises an exciting array of performances, panel discussions, and collaborations to showcase the talent and diversity of Seattle’s choral scene. Now in its sixth iteration, Seattle Sings will feature over 30 choral ensembles from across the region, offering amateur and professional singers an opportunity to perform and connect with a larger community. The festival will include numerous concerts, with an emphasis on showcasing a variety of musical styles, traditions, and cultural influences. Our composer-in-residence for Seattle Sings VI Choral Festival is Timothy Takach, an award-winning composer from Minneapolis, MN. Inspired by narrative, magical realism, speculative fiction and making better humans through art, the music of Timothy C. Takach is a mainstay in the concert world. Applauded for his melodic lines, text choices and rich, intriguing harmonies, his compositions are performed worldwide. He is a co-founder of Cantus, Graphite Publishing and Nation, and he is a co-creator of the theatrical production All is Calm: the Christmas Truce of 1914. Tim has chosen the poetry of Jodi Hills for the festival anthem commission, a new poem entitled “A Song” that will be premiered by massed choirs throughout the three days of the festival in performances led by the composer. This festival is a must-see for anyone passionate about the transformative power of choral singing. Thanks to the generosity of 4Culture, King FM and the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture, admission to the festival is free for all performances. For more information, including a detailed schedule of events and performing choirs, please visit the official festival website at seattlesings.org.
