Ikat features over 100 textiles made from the 12th century to the present, each the result of a meticulous and time-honored process of dying threads to create handwoven patterns. Exquisite kimonos, furnishings, robes, and other cloths from around the world speak to the power of slow fashion and the sacredness of clothing as art.
As a SAM member, you get access to exclusive programming throughout the day, including exhibition overviews from Pam McClusky, SAM's Oliver E. and Pamela F. Cobb Curator of African and Oceanic Art, at 12:30 and 6 pm in Plestcheeff Auditorium and happy hour with a cash bar in the Brotman Forum from 4 to 8 pm.
