Oxbow Farm & Conservation Center's Agriculture and Education teams are thrilled to share their dynamic blend of work and play through field tours, tool demos, and hands-on crafts and games that encourage inquiry and spark connections!
Our aim for Discover Day is for you to leave with tips and tools that inspire deeper engagement with your surroundings and empower you towards sustainable environmental stewardship.
DISCOVER DAY TOURS
Kid's Garden Tasting Tours
Time: 11AM & 12PM
Walking Distance: 0.3 miles
All ages
Explore Oxbow's Kids' Farm where you'll get to harvest, snack, and delight in nature's delicious abundance! Discover the fascinating world of plants as you get acquainted with all six major plant parts. Learn the secrets behind why we munch on some parts and steer clear of others, all while uncovering exciting ways to savor the plants you thought you knew inside out!
Spring Cover Crop Field Tour & Seed Drill Demo
Time: 12-1 PM
Walking Distance: 1 mile
Tour best suited for adults
Join Farmer Anthony Reyes on a walk to our production fields, where you'll discover how to implement cover crops in your own field or yard to build soil health. Explore the benefits, types, and methods of incorporating cover crops in organic systems. Anthony will provide a demonstration of the seed drill as well as seed sources for various cover crop varieties. Additionally, you'll learn about our ongoing trials and research focused on increasing crop yields while preserving the ecosystem.
Farming for Conservation Tour
Time: 2-3 PM
Walking Distance: 1 mile
Tour best suited for adults
During this tour of our production fields, Farmer Anthony Reyes will illustrate Oxbow's commitment to cultivating not just nutritious food, but also fostering healthy soil that supports biodiversity. Delve into discussions about buffer zones and receive practical and technical tips, along with resource guides, to integrate conservation techniques into your own outdoor spaces.

Guided Inquiry Learning
Time: 11AM & 1PM

Discover how inquiry-based exploration transforms learning into a fun and memorable experience for both kids and adults! In Oxbow's dynamic Living Playground, our exceptional outdoor educators will establish context, spark curiosity, and facilitate learning by posing various questions. Through these inquiries, students of all ages are encouraged to trust their instincts and engage their senses to make observations. Participants are invited to ask further questions about their surroundings and collaborate on explanations to understand their discoveries better. Witness how this approach fosters confidence in our connection to ourselves, each other, and nature, guiding us towards a sustainable future.
Kid's Pollinator Activity
Time: All day
Walking Distance: 0.1 miles
All ages
Come join the fun in the orchard and become a part of our bug hunt adventure! Discover the secrets of plant life cycles, meet some friendly bugs, and observe the bright blooms and busy bees as they dance among the apple and pear trees.
Farm Stand Shopping
Time:10AM-4PM
Find fresh Certified Organic and Salmon Safe veggies, native plants, and partner products from local farm friends!

FOOD & BEVERAGES
Time: 10AM-3PM
Sandwiches, wraps, salads, cookies and an assortment of cold and hot drinks will be available for purchase at our outdoor kitchen.

What to Wear and Bring
The terrain around Oxbow can be uneven; we recommend wearing sturdy shoes or boots. Dress for the weather and be prepared to walk and explore! For food, beverage, and Farm Stand purchases, we accept all major credit cards.
Come camera-ready for all the opportunities to document your memories at Oxbow and use the gorgeous backdrop scenery of an organic farm in the Snoqualmie Valley.
Health & Safety
Smoking, vaping, and alcohol are prohibited.
With the exception of service animals, dogs are not permitted anywhere on Oxbow grounds, including in the parking area. Please leave your furry friends at home!
Observe all posted signage indicating which areas are for visitors. If you come across an unmarked area, please, do not enter.
Do not enter tunnels or harvest anywhere unless invited to by Oxbow staff.
Be mindful that we have Honey Buckets for visitor bathroom use. We will have hand washing stations and hand sanitizer.
