Celebrate Juneteenth in Seattle 2024 @ NAAM


Juneteenth is NAAM’s opportunity to bring the community together for a celebration of Black freedom and liberation. We are grateful to the host of enthusiastic partners, presenters, volunteers, and vendors who support the museum every year to ensure that our annual Juneteenth celebration is a success. NAAM with the continued support of our community helps advance justice and equity, cultivate educational empowerment, while centering and celebrating Black history, art, and culture. DAY 1: SKATE PARTY SATURDAY, JUNE 15 The annual Juneteenth Skate Party returns on Saturday, June 15 from 10AM - 5PM. The museum will be open all day, but join us at Judkins Park from 12PM - 5PM for our Annual Juneteenth Skate Party. Attendees will enjoy skates for rent, a variety of food truck vendors, music, and more. We will also have a variety of community product and service vendors in attendance to share with attendees new information, products, and services offered throughout the Pacific Northwest. DAY 2: FATHER'S DAY SUNDAY, JUNE 16 NAAM celebrates Father’s Day at the museum on Sunday, June 16 from 10AM - 5PM. Join us at NAAM for free admission on Father's Day for a special celebration of community and fatherhood. We are bring back our Juneteenth film festival with three movies playing throughout the day. Bring the entire family to enjoy in-person interactive story times where we will be giving a copy of the book away to kids in attendance. We will have food from more local delicious food trucks and enjoy music from Seattle's own jazz band, Goody Bagg. Additionally, all fathers in attendance will receive a special Father's Day appreciation gift from NAAM. DAY 3: JUNETEENTH WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19 In honor of Juneteenth, the museum will be open with free admission on Wednesday, June 19 from 10AM -3PM. Visit NAAM on Juneteenth for a day full of celebrating community and Black history. Attendees will enjoy free admission all day and get to explore the museum to experience the our two latest exhibits on display: Emmett Till & Mamie Till-Mobley: Let the World See and Interrupting Privilege. We will be hosting Juneteenth arts and crafts for kids as well as a KIP Book giveaway.
