Poetry Month Reading and Celebration at the Kirkland Library
For adults.
In North Creek, three women poets examine their lives with loving attention to landscape, history and family lineage. Each poet will read selections exploring the concept of "family." Then they will offer suggestions for how to write about family without stereotyping.
Sue Selmer was born in Kirkland and presently resides in Bothell.
Joan McBride lives in Kirkland and is a former mayor of Kirkland.
Denise Calvetti Michaels teaches Creative Writing and Poetics at UW Bothell and Psychology at Cascadia College. All have been previously published.
