Nerd Tour 2024

Five science-loving nerds take the stage and perform comedy at The Jewelbox Theater in Seattle, WA on Wednesday, 05/29. 21+. Doors at 6:30pm. Showtime at 7:00pm. Tickets are $15 in advance on Eventbrite and $20 at the door. Expect just the right amount of eye-contact avoidance, social anxiety, and eager tangential rants at a fantastic bar and performance venue in Seattle: The Jewelbox Theater (2322 2nd Avenue, Seattle, WA 98121). Featuring these hilarious comedians from across Oregon: Marietje Hauprich, Naomi Fitter, Sarah Hagen, David Kildal and Todd Basil. These nerds aim to create a welcoming experience for the audience. The comedy is free of toxic masculinity and hate speech. The number of laughs is exceeded only by the strength of the performers’ collective eyeglass prescriptions. Meet the nerds: Marietje (muh-ree-chah) Hauprich is a standup comic based in Portland, OR. She grew up in the rough streets of New York. The state not the city. Upstate. Dirt streets. Woods. She draws from her life experiences, such as the struggles of being a dedicated helicopter mom to four cats. Marietje is a regular at Helium Comedy Club and has performed at the Limestone, Upper Left and All Jane Comedy Festivals. Naomi Fitter escaped from Ohio at the age of 22. Her soothing midwestern voice has been described as "sexy," "librarian-like," and "nearly inaudible." She has opened for Bil Dwyer, Laurie Kilmartin, and Whitney Cummings and performed in the All Jane Comedy Festival. When she's not telling jokes, she spends her time studying robots. Sarah Hagen is a Eugene, Oregon, based comedian who inflicts her unique brand of nerdy humor on audiences across the Pacific Northwest. Sarah's comedic range includes story telling, musical comedy, as well as traditional stand-up. Festival appearances include the Ha Ha Harvest Festival, Northwest Women's Comedy Festival, and the Savage Henry Comedy Festival. David Kildal is a Portland, Oregon-based standup comedian. Born in Southern Oregon and raised in Dayton, Ohio, David is well versed in making light of unexciting situations. David describes his style as “chill, yet spicy, like a leftover chicken wing.” Recently, David has performed at the Last Best Comedy Fest in Bozeman, MT and the Button Bridge Comedy Festival in Hood River, OR. Todd Basil is a standup comedian and college calculus instructor. He can make math funny but won't make you do any math. He has performed at clubs, festivals, wineries, breweries, and corporate events along the West Coast and beyond. He recently headlined at the New South Comedy Festival in South Carolina and performed at the Treefort Music Festival in Boise, Idaho. He was just featured on NPR’s Weekend Edition as part of the touring Teacher Show. Enjoy Belltown’s fantastic bar and performance space and geek out at this goofy and cerebral comedy show on Wednesday, May 29th.
