Our quarterly community dinners welcome anyone with a curiosity about expanding access to green space to support health and well-being, environmental and health equity, people-nature reciprocity, and climate change resilience. Students, professionals, and community members from many different disciplines come together to explore new ideas, discuss policies and programs, and strengthen partnerships in the field of nature and health.
Our September 22 dinner features a talk from occupational therapist Amy Wagenfeld and landscape architect Daniel Winterbottom about their latest book, Therapeutic Gardens: Design for Healing Spaces (second edition). Increasingly landscape architects, garden designers, and healthcare professionals are asked to create gardens that meet the physical, psychological, emotional, and social needs of a wide range of users. In their latest book, Daniel and Amy present a collaborative approach that successfully translates the evidence-based principles of therapeutic design into practice using case studies from around the world.
Nature and Health Community Dinners include:
- A plant-based dinner
- Drinks
- Networking
- Short talks from a wide variety of professionals, including researchers, community leaders, policy-makers, program managers, etc.
