A message to our community from Festival Director Anto(n) Astudillo (they/he)
“I am very excited to present to you our 2024 program. This has been such a beautiful journey! Our Screening Committee included Trans+ film professionals and film enthusiasts from all over the country, a total of 32+ members watching every submission. We met every week to discuss films, inspired each time by the tremendous collective imagination of our Trans+ community!
This program of over 70 films we are sharing with you, is a celebration of our existence! It is also a testament to our infinite creativity and how far we have come despite continuing to live in a world full of challenges. Our vast creativity makes us unstoppable!
Last but not least, I would like to thank the numerous volunteers, including TDBC board members, who have been helping over the past 5 months with our festival, making it such a meaningful event. Without you, this would have not been possible! In particular, I would like to thank Margo Iñiguez Dawes, board member of Three Dollar Bill Cinema, and Trans+ ally, for helping me lead the way with such generous energy and immense love for the Queer and Trans community in Seattle.
