Music Solstice: The Roots, Golden Age, and Impact of Soul Music in America
Music Soulstice: The Roots, Golden Age & Impact of Soul Music in America traces the roots, development, and influences of Soul music in America, from its Golden Age in the 1950s and 1960s, through its evolution into spin-off genres, all the way to contemporary popular music. Global Heat band will perform the music of early Soul artists like Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, Aretha Franklin, and James Brown; the Motown sound of Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder; through to R&B from Earth Wind and Fire, Bootsy Collins and others; and up to Michael Jackson, Prince, and contemporary artists like Lizzo, Anderson Paak, and Kendrick Lamar. Music Soulstice was developed with support from 4Culture/King County Lodging Tax, and from Global Artists Collective, Woodinville WA.
