We welcome the community to join us and take advantage of this free screening event,” said Dr. Gabriela Lodeiro, Clinical Psychologist at Intercoastal Medical Group Research Clinic.
Intercoastal Medical Group Neurology and Research Clinic will offer its free, confidential memory screening in English and Spanish on Saturday, February 3, 2024 between 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, at Town Square Adult Day Center Sarasota in Sarasota, offering free parking and light refreshments for attendees. Intercoastal Medical Group Research Clinic is part of the Global Alzheimer’s Platform Foundation GAP-Net, which is a network of academic and private research sites dedicated to advancing clinical research for Alzheimer’s and other dementia related diseases.
The 30-minute memory testing for adults ages 50 and older will be conducted in a private setting. After attendees complete the assessment, they meet one-on-one with a health professional who can discuss their results with them and address any questions or concerns they have about their test findings and memory performance. Early detection of memory problems is crucial for timely intervention with new therapies that may help achieve a better quality of life. It also allows individuals to learn of eligibility to participate in clinical trials to slow the progression of a memory disorder.
