Sarasota Opera Gala "A Masked Ball: Carnevale di Venezia"
The Sarasota Opera's Gala "A Masked Ball: Carnevale di Venezia" will feature a cocktail reception, followed by a program and performances by Sarasota Youth Opera and other special guests. The fundraiser will celebrate the beginning of the Winter Opera Festival with the Sarasota Opera community in a Venetian Carnival where food, drink, and masked merriment take over the Grand Ballroom of the Ritz-Carlton. The Italian tradition of wearing masks goes all the way back to the Venice Carnival of the 1400s.
Proceeds support different areas of Sarasota Opera's work, from Youth Opera to production costs to general operating dollars.
