Banyan Ball Extravaganza
The Out of Door Academy will be celebrating 100 years of education at their annual Banyan Ball Extravaganza on March 2, 2024 at the Ritz Carlton Sarasota, 1111 Ritz Carlton Drive, Sarasota. The centennial celebration will start with a cocktail hour at 6 p.m. followed by a sumptuous dinner and music by Soiree. Net proceeds will benefit the ODA Fund, which covers all aspects of campus life, and covers the difference between tuition and the cost of each student’s education. About the Out-of-Door Academy – In 1924, Fanneal Harrison and Catherine Gavin founded a school with the vision to establish a uniquely progressive school committed to high academic standards and to nourishing the minds, bodies, and spirits of children. They envisioned a school where some of the most important lessons would be learned “out-of-door” or outside the classroom. Out of Door Academy is the second oldest private school in Florida. Although the School has evolved continually over the last 99 years, it has honored the vision of its remarkable founders. Today, The Out-of-Door Academy serves more than 830+ students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade on its campuses. The School has two campuses, one in Lakewood Ranch and one on Siesta Key. Out of Door Academy will open its third location in Sarasota in August of this year.
