FREE Jazz Happy Hour: Kevin Celebi w/ Harmonic Sanity Septet - "Many Colors of Jazz"
W/ Kevin Celebi + 6 , one of the region’s most renowned trumpet players + arrangers. Join us as Kevin brings us the "Many Colors of Jazz". The band includes some of the most familiar regional names in Jazz:
Kevin Çelebi – trumpet & arranger
Kevin is a jazz trumpeter, flugelhornist, composer & arranger from Detroit with a master’s in music from Indiana University. He is dubbed “trumpet mercenary” for his tendency to play with everyone from reggae and ska bands to orchestras and big bands, but he feels that jazz brings out his best. He is based in St. Petersburg, FL.
Rodney Rojas – alto sax
A Key West native, Rodney excels at both big band and combo jazz with fluency in most reed instruments. He’s played with jazz luminaries such as Kenny Drew Jr., Byron Stripling, and Doc Severinsen (the latter two as a member of the Naples Jazz Orchestra).
Mark Gould – tenor sax
Clarinet legend turned tenor master.
Greg Nielsen – trombone
Another Detroit native, Greg is not only one of the best trombone players in Florida but possibly the entire country. He both arranges and performs with ease and has been a member of dozens of ensembles.
Pablo Arencibia – piano
Pablo is a pianist from Spain who excels in jazz, flamenco, and classical music. He recently moved to Tampa and plays jazz with many high-profile groups in the area.
Mark Neuenschwander – bass
Tampa’s most solid groove-layer
Chuck Parr – drums
Chuck is a drummer from Richmond, Indiana with a wide variety of playing experience ranging from country and bluegrass to heavy-hitting postbop jazz.
