Music Compound's Summer Music Camp
Once again this summer, local music school Music Compound is offering its music summer camp, which runs from June 2 through August 1, at its location in Sarasota (775 Bell Rd., Sarasota). Participants will enjoy a wide range of activities, from learning various instruments to enjoying group live performance opportunities. Students in grades 1-12 are welcome; the camps are divided by age. Families can choose from full (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) or half-day (9 a.m.-noon OR 1-4 p.m.) options. Some of the sessions offered for grades 1-5 will include “Intro to Music,” “Kidz Rock Band,” “Key to Piano,” “Musical Theatre” and “Strings & Things” (guitar, bass and ukulele). For students in grades 6-12, the sessions include “Modern Band,” “Improvisation on Keys,” “Drum Fills & Solos,” “Music Production,” “Jazz Band,” “Classic Rock Band,” “Modern Garage Band,” “Strings & Things” and “Songwriting.” Cost is $400/week for full days, $200/week for the half-day option; there is a $30 registration fee for all new campers.
