Comedy for a Cause
A night of laughter with additional opportunities for giving through a silent auction and 50/50 drawing. Thanks to the generosity of McCurdy's Comedy Club, all proceeds raised will be donated to your local Family Promise affiliate. In the wake of Hurricane Debby, there is an immediate need for funding to place families in temporary hotel/motel units as well. Checks can be mailed to: Family Promise of Sarasota-Manatee, 8499 S. Family Promise of Sarasota-Manatee is funded by individual and congregational donations and through grant applications. With one full-time paid employee and a volunteer Board, we are proud to say that 90%+ of monies received flow to our clients. Our clients are families who live, work, and support Sarasota and Manatee counties with their tax dollars. When they need a hand up, we are there to ensure these families do not have to resort to living in their cars.
I cannot stress enough that we work with FAMILIES. Image you and your family spending even one night in your automobile; image the shame the parent faces as they realize they cannot provide a safe place for their family to spend the night; image being handed a garbage bag and told to pack only what will fit in that bag; image losing a family pet.....now know that you can help right now!
