Botany has never tasted so good! “Noshing in Nature” continues at Marie Selby Botanical Gardens during the evening of Friday, March 31. The next program in this “sip-n’-learn” series focuses on the Florida orange and is aptly named “Orange You Glad to Learn About Vodka?” Learn about the botanical, cultural, and culinary history of this citrus fruit with Selby Gardens’ vice president of regional history John McCarthy, along with an expert global historian and a master mixologist. Then, enjoy samples of a unique variety of vodka from Cathead Distillery that’s made from Florida oranges.
This event takes place at Selby Gardens Historic Spanish Point campus, which was once a pioneer-era center of commerce where farm-grown oranges were shipped from the Webb homestead to northern states.
