Monday Night Jazz features the MJR Latin Project with Mauricio Rodriguez
Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret presents the MJR Latin Project led by Mauricio Rodriguez with an exciting evening of jazz in downtown Sarasota at the John C. Court Cabaret at FST; First St and Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota. Bassist, composer, producer, and educator, Mauricio Rodriguez is one of the finest musicians of his generation in Cuba. He was member of Fervet Opus jazz quartet, one of the most important Latin jazz bands in Cuba in the 80’s, touring around the world to many festivals and concerts. The MJR Latin Project band revives the Latin jazz scene with original compositions pleasing the most demanding spectators with its intricate fusion of Latin rhythms and momentary flashbacks to the Latin greats of musical history. The richness of the Latin flavor and modern compositional elements create a complex Latin rhythmical approach. Showtime at 7:30 pm. Doors open 6:30 for food and bar service. Tickets on sale September 1.
