Jazz at the Cabaret with Rod Alnord Quintet
On July 1, Monday Night Jazz at the Cabaret presents an evening of jazz in an intimate cabaret setting in downtown Sarasota at the John C. Court Cabaret at FST; First St and Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota. Enjoy an exciting and upbeat-style of Swing, with a mix of Latin and Contemporary music performed by the Rod Alnord Quartet. The band features Alnord on drums with Ross Strauser-sax, Eric Zabala-vibes, Ruben Davila-bass and guest vocalist, Nicole Hoffer. Alnord is a Haitian born drummer with multiple musical influences including Jazz, Gospel, and Afro-Caribbean Music. He studied at the University of South Florida under Ric Craig and Bob McCormick and has since developed his own style of playing, inspired by the explosive Elvin Jones and modern drummer extraordinaire, Brian Blade.
