The Fogartyville Songwriters Series is a new showcase opportunity to highlight some of the region’s best songwriting talent. The February event will be hosted by Al Donadi. Albert Donadi was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the village of Weatherly. His musical journey started at an early age learning rhythm with percussion instruments at school, joining the concert and marching band as a drummer up until the 8th grade. It was then when his parents bought him his first guitar. After graduating from college, he taught and played gigs whenever he could. In 2011, he decided to follow his dream and make music his full time career. He packed up his van and headed south. Over the past 10 years Al has been playing “live” on a weekly basis mainly on the West Coast of Florida. “My goal is to have fun, spread love and create awareness about real life felt situations through my music.”
More info on the Songwriter Series:
The second Monday of each month, musicians and music fans are invited to gather to hear a trio of songwriters in the round playing their craft and describing their songwriting experience. We love the songwriter round format because it facilitates a deeper connection between the individuals sharing the stage, and encourages storytelling and spontaneous collaboration.
The Fogartyville showcase will present three solo singer-songwriters performing four songs each.
Following the showcase, we will host an Open Round for musicians, inviting any singer-songwriters in the audience to submit their name for a chance to be picked at random to play a few songs. The Open Round is a good place for musicians to try out new material, meet other songwriters, practice performance skills and become a part of the local songwriting community. Feedback from the audience is welcomed. Anyone is eligible to play at the Open Round as long as your material is original. (This is an acoustic event, no pre-recorded tracks allowed).
