Venice has a rich collection of historic architecture wrapped in fascinating tales of its past. Join architectural historian Sebastin Liseo in his 22nd year conducting walking tours. He will highlight the architectural features of 1920s buildings and the stories of the people associated with them. On this tour you will learn how the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers invested in the Florida Land Boom, creating a city that reflected the Mediterranean Revival styles so popular at the time. This year special focus is on Native Americans and women.
90-minute tours begin and end at the gazebo in Centennial Park, 200 W. Venice Ave. Space is limited so make your plans early! 24-hour advance registration required. Email the Venice Museum at [email protected] or call (941) 486-2487 and provide tour date and name of each participant. Confirmation will be sent via return email. $25 exact cash payable at time of tour.
