Veterans Backyard Bash
The public is invited to a full day of entertainment, food and music from some of Southwest Florida’s favorite bands at the American Legion Post 254’s Veterans Backyard Bash on March 30, 2024. The Veterans Backyard Bash event will start at 11 a.m. and run into the evening hours on the grounds of the American Legion Post 254, 6648 Taneytown Street, in the North Port Estates. Tickets are $10 per person. Kids ages 16 and under are free. The event will feature performances by a variety of local bands, including Clover’s Revenge from 1-2:30 p.m.; Tidal Wave from 3-4 p.m.; Jane Bond Band from 5-630 p.m.; and Dukes of Brinkley’s special Rock Anthem Show beginning at 7 p.m. Before and between bands, performances will take place by Buckschotte Productions and local musician Erin Hoffer.
In addition to music, the American Legion Post 254 Color Guard will present the colors at 12 p.m. followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and the National Anthem. There will be 50/50 raffles, and food and drinks available for sale on site. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
“Our American Legion Family, including our Legion, Auxiliary, Sons and Riders members, are working together to host a great family friendly event for the community,” said Post Commander Paul Orsino.To add to the excitement of the event, the American Legion is selling raffle tickets for $20 each for the chance to win a $3,000 cash prize. Each ticket includes one entry into the Backyard Bash and a chance to win the cash prize drawing, which will take place during the Veterans Backyard Bash. Tickets are on sale now at the American Legion. Visit the Post during business hours to purchase tickets.
The local American Legion also is seeking sponsors for the Veterans Backyard Bash. The proceeds from sponsorships will offset the cost of the event and help support the American Legion’s mission to assist veterans and community members in need.
