ACE - Western World Religions-Christianity: The Religion of the Fatherhood of God and of Love
This course begins with an exploration of the historical foundation of the religion in the life and teachings of Jesus as presented in the Gospels, with particular emphasis on the meaning of his death and resurrection. We will then turn our attention to the history of the Church and how its main branches (Catholic, Orthodox, & Protestant) evolved. We will also examine the key teachings of Christianity concerning God, creation, sin, salvation through Christ, and the life of the world to come, as well as the main doctrinal sources of division among Christians.
