‘Issues & Insights’ Programs Focus on Lessons Learned from War


Sept. 6, Blue Bell, Pa.”Montgomery County Community College's Fall 2013 "Issues and Insights"? programs will feature three documentary films on the theme of war followed by analysis and discussion among various social scientists from the College's Social Science Division.

The programs will be held on Sept. 18 and Oct. 2 and 16, 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Science Center Room 213, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell. The programs are free and open to the public.

On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the documentary film, "The Fog of War: Eleven Lessons from the Life of Robert S. McNamara," will feature the experiences of former Secretary of Defense Robert S. McNamara and the pressures of making decisions during wartime or in the "fog of war."? The film covers World War II, Vietnam War and Cuban Missle Crisis.

On Wednesday, Oct. 2, the documentary film, "The War Behind Closed Doors,"? will examine the course of events and reactions that led to the war with Iraq, including the lengthy battle between Secretary of State Colin Powell and Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz.

On Wednesday, Oct. 16, the documentary film, "The Gate Keepers,"? will feature the reflections of several key people of the Israeli internal security on the terrors of war.
