In this highly anticipated show, viewers can experience the awe-inspiring beauty of California's majestic landscapes through the eyes of acclaimed artist Julia Munger Seelos. Julia, an award winning plein air painter, is renowned for her exquisite ability to capture the grandeur and essence of nature. Through her masterful strokes and keen artistic vision, Julia brings to life the beauty and majesty of California's diverse and breathtaking trees. Julia’s ability to infuse any outdoor scene with vibrancy and life is on display in her new collection, which centers on the stunning cypress, pines, oaks and eucalyptus that make California so unique. “Into the Woods” transports viewers into a realm where the tranquility of the woods meets the power of artistic expression. Julia’s breathtaking ability to capture the profound beauty of our natural surroundings promises to appeal to art enthusiasts, nature lovers, and anyone seeking inspiration through art. It's a chance to step into a world where nature meets art, and where viewers can immerse themselves in the tranquility and power of Julia’s incredible landscapes. Julia grew up in Northern Kentucky and attended the Rhode Island School of Design and the University of Cincinnati, majoring in Industrial Design. She also holds a degree in illustration from San Jose State. After a full career in retail design, Julia now devotes herself to painting full time. She has participated in the west’s most prestigious plein air events, including the Carmel Art Festival as well as those in Los Gatos, Sedona, Telluride, Sonoma, Zion, Escalante, Easton Maryland, and Santa Fe New Mexico. She has been invited six times to the Grand Canyon Celebration of Art and has a painting in the permanent collection at El Tovar. Julia’s paintings have been selected for numerous exhibitions with the American Impressionist Society, the California Art Club and Laguna Plein Air Painters (LPAPA). Julia’s works have been in shows at the San Luis Obispo Art Museum, Steinbeck Museum, Wilding Museum, Epperson Gallery, Monterey Maritime Museum, Pacific Grove Art Association, the Triton Art Museum and the Steinbeck Center. Julia was awarded First Place for oils in the Santa Cruz Statewide Landscape Show and Best of Show in LPAPA’s Best of Plein Air Exhibition. Julia’s work has been featured at Galleria Tontantzin, Portola Art Gallery, Baywood Gallery, and is currently available at Viewpoints Gallery in Los Altos CA. She is a Signature Member of the American Impressionist Society and the Monterey Bay Plein Air Painters Association and is a member of LPAPA and the California Art Club.
