Five lives shattered by wrongful incarceration. Four stories of their search for justice and freedom. Audiences are invited to “Making an Exoneree,” a class film screening, celebration, and premiere of five student-made short documentaries that reveal the facts—and falsehoods—of wrongful conviction and imprisonment cases from around the country. The students hope that by sharing these stories they can help correct injustice and bring innocent people home from prison.
The "Making an Exoneree" course at UC Santa Cruz is made possible through partnership with "Making an Exoneree" and the Prisons and Justice Initiative at Georgetown University, the Visualizing Abolition initiative and the Institute for the Arts and Sciences at UC Santa Cruz.
