HERstory Celebration

There will be guided gameplay, hands-on activities, storytime, guest speakers, and women-focused organizations. HERstory is a captivating board game that celebrates women's contributions across history. Players explore impactful stories from various fields, uncovering inspiring achievements of women. It's a perfect blend of education and entertainment, suitable for all ages, promoting discussions on gender equality and historical recognition. Games will be available for playing at the event. We’ll be hearing from three influential local women, each representing a different era in Santa Cruz's history - the past, the present, and the future - showcasing the enduring and evolving impact of female leadership and vision in shaping our community: Rebecca Hernandez (community archivist), Farnaz Fatemi (poet laureate), and Lucia Nakashima (high school junior).
