Santa Cruz Baroque Festival 2025 Season - Concert I - Pipe Organ by Candlelight
The Santa Cruz Baroque Festival 52nd season begins with the Festival's new Artistic Director Jörg Reddin performing works for solo organ on Holy Cross Church's famous pipe organ. Featured composers include J.S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, R. Schumann, E. Grieg, all of whom studied in J. S. Bach's town of Leipzig over a 100-year span. Mr. Reddin currently holds the position as Cantor and Organist at the J.S. Bach Church in Arnstadt, Germany—the very same position held there by a young 18 year old J. S. Bach in 1703— Reddin is only the 20th person to hold that position there since Bach! Prepare to be amazed at Reddin's keyboard virtuosity and profound interpretations of this music! There is also a pre-concert reception with delicious food, drinks, and snacks. You will have a chance to meet and greet with our new Artistic Director, Maestro Jörg Reddin. The reception is from 6:00-7:00pm—please come and enjoy this festive atmosphere.
