Back to Basics: A Still Life Drawing Class with Susie Wilson

This class aims to bring confidence to the beginning artist; anyone who feels unsure of where to start and how to translate what they see three dimensionally into a representational, two dimensional format. We will address many of the elusive aspects of relationship, fore-shortening, perspective, value, negative space, .. so many of the terms which might need explanation and example to understand instead of seeming overwhelming and perhaps more difficult than they really need to be!!! I hope to include anyone whose art journey was cut short early on by negative experience but whose enthusiasm remains unfulfilled!!! Each class will begin with a few quick ‘gesture’ drawings to help our eyes become used to loosening focus and seeing the whole subject as it relates to itself hopefully over-riding some of the thoughts which can restrict our ability to interpret uniquely and without judgement, bringing fluidity and energy into our process ( and a sense of ‘letting go’!)
