We invite visitors back into our MakerSpace to learn the art method of frottage in leaf rubbings. Through this activity, you will explore nature’s textures and patterns using crayon and paper. Artists use this technique to add natural, visual texture to their works.
Visit our MakerSpace during museum open hours, January 19-21, to make art with a one-of-a-kind floral flare! Artists of all levels are welcome to join and materials will be provided, free with admission.
This activity draws on themes from NUMU’s current exhibitions, The Hiking Club: A Vocabulary of Yearning and the lost ones: iterations and murmurs. What stories can you tell with the help of Mother Nature?
