This exhibit will explore historical events in the South Bay LGBTQ+ community from the 1970s to 1980s through the lens of photojournalist Ted Sahl. In 1978, Sahl unexpectedly found himself at the center of a San Jose City Hall dispute between San Jose gay rights activists and members of the Moral Majority. His recording of this event sparked a decades-long interest and dedication to chronicling the LGBTQ+ politics, people, and movements in the South Bay.
