Local Efforts and Impacts related to Climate Change
As climate-driven disasters become more frequent, Santa Cruz County has experienced damaging ocean surges, river flooding and wildfires. In this two-presentation series we will discuss future prospects, as well as local efforts to mitigate the causes of climate change (e.g., by reducing emissions) and to adapt to new realities by restoring natural processes to reduce climate risk to landscapes and livelihoods.
John Hunt is a long-time La Selva Beach resident and a research aquatic toxicologist in the Dept. of Environmental Toxicology at UC Davis.
