Santa Cruz Cookout at Harvey West Park

Crafted by visionary Ayo Banjo, this event is not just a gathering but a movement, redefining the essence of community gatherings in Santa Cruz. This year’s Cookout is poised to be a landmark event, fortified by the support of over half a dozen major local organizations and underwritten by the City’s Economic Development and Housing Department.
Join in a celebration uplifting Black life, joy and futures, with live music, a field day tournament, pie contest and free barbecue while supplies last. The Cookout will showcase a vibrant lineup of local Afrobeat and Black artists, turning the spotlight on the diverse and dynamic talents within our community. It is a wholesome, family-friendly affair.
