Beneficial Insects In Your Garden
This workshop will consist of two parts.
In part A - There will be a lecture and Q&A about beneficial insects in gardens local to Santa Cruz. We will view and discuss some of the more common pollinators and predators of pest insects. Stacy will also present some of the findings of her team’s research investigating how certain garden management practices may promote the abundance and diversity of beneficials, or may change their behaviors.
In part B - for those joining us in person, we will take a walk from the Hay Barn to the Farm and test our insect identification and collection skills!
What to Bring: If you will be joining us in person for the insect identification walk, please bring closed-toed shoes, a hat, and a water bottle.
