Renowned golf course architect will talk about his life and work which has taken him to resorts and matches all over the world, from St Andrews' Scottish links to the White House putting green. His book, Poetry and Grass 2023, contains his poetry and art, as well as pictures of golf courses with friends and colleagues.
He has designed over 300 courses in 50 countries. Robert respects and embraces the land in his work. His mantra is “listen to the land.” He served on the California State Parks and Recreation Commission and was elected its chair in the 1980s. His numerous awards and honors include the 2024 Donald Ross Award which is presented to a person who has made a significant contribution to the game of golf and the profession of golf course architecture.
A graduate of Yale, he attended one year of law at Stanford before joining his father, Robert Trent Jones Sr.. working alongside him on the Spyglass Hill course at Pebble Beach. Bring a bag lunch, coffee and cookies will be provided.
