Embodied Awakening - A Journey Through The Chakras
Throat - Vishuddha: The fifth chakra asks us to purify our communication to the most authentic expression of our truth. This class will bring special attention to the mystical association of each of the Sanskrit vowel sounds to one of the petals of the lotus flower at this powerful center.
Gathering once a month for 7 months, we will work our way from the ground up to explore the process of our embodiment through the lens of classical hatha yoga. Come to one or all!
Each class will begin with a seated introduction to the physical and energetic anatomy of the chakra in focus. We will then move into a yoga asana movement practice for an embodied exploration of that center and begin to awaken the energies that lie within. We will then return to a comfortable seat on the floor or in a chair to engage with the more subtle dimensions of these mysterious wheels of light through guided visualization, sacred gesture or mudra, and chanting of Sanskrit sound syllables. Bring a journal, pen, reading glasses and your favorite meditation cushion or bench if you have one.
