Do you have questions about your ballot this election? How does Prop 5 make it easier for local governments to borrow money? Why would Prop 36 partly roll back another proposition that voters approved in 2014?
Join Lookout Santa Cruz on Wednesday October 16th, from 7:00–8:00 pm at Bookshop Santa Cruz as we welcome the nonprofit statewide publication CalMatters to help us break down, analyze, and answer your burning questions about this year’s state ballot propositions, in a conversation centered around the latest edition of the nonpartisan CalMatters Voter Guide.
CalMatters events promote non-partisan civic engagement and build awareness about important issues, politics, and policies that shape California’s future. CalMatters has launched its voter event series to provide in-person information to voters statewide and is heading to libraries, bike depots, restaurants, college campuses, bookstores, and other community spaces to bring people together across the state to talk about what’s on the ballot this November. Their interactive, immersive programming challenges participants to make up their own minds, and provides them with elevated opportunities to network with the state leaders, policy makers and their fellow citizens.
From intimate salon sessions at the CalMatters Studio in Sacramento to public events across the state, our events bring interesting and compelling content to Californians in person and online. Each event brings together California thought leaders and our editors and reporters to discuss the critical topics that matter most.
Lookout Santa Cruz is a full-service news, information and entertainment website focusing on the happenings of Santa Cruz County. Lookout can provide you with all the news of each day, while also sharing fun events to check out, with our comprehensive entertainment and arts event calendar.
