The Women's Leadership Gala

The Women's Leadership Gala is an annual fundraiser to raise funds for The Junior League of San Francisco, Inc, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The mission of the Junior League of San Francisco is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. Since 2023, the JLSF has focused on bridging the gap of Essential Needs in the San Francisco community. Essential Needs encompasses a number of issues, but we target our work within three pillars: Housing, Food, and Basic Personal Necessities. Our annual celebration and fundraiser is to celebrate the achievements and contributions of leadership within our organization and our local community. This year our honorees are Carol Benz and Peggy Haas. Carol is deeply involved in the arts community, serving in significant positions in the San Francisco Ballet Auxiliary, San Francisco Opera Guild, and the Merola Opera Program. Additionally, she is a sustaining member of the Junior League of San Francisco and the founder of San Francisco Ballet’s ENCORE!, now known as the Young Patrons Circle. Peggy is a noted San Francisco philanthropist and remains active in theater and has been a member of Children’s Theatre Association (CTA) for thirty years as well as a past president. In 1992 she and two other artists founded Marin Open Studios. In 2012, while looking for a new home for CTA, she walked past the long-abandoned Presidio Theatre. She recognized the deep need for affordable, modern performance spaces in San Francisco and brought CTA to the Presidio Theatre. The event will comprise of a reception and a 3-course meal. There will also be an after party with the Palace's signature cocktails, dessert, and fruit. A paddle raise and a silent auction will also be happening. Invite your friends, family, and acquaintances to this event to get to know our organization and our honorees a little better and to celebrate women's leadership throughout the San Francisco community. -- For the 2024-2025 year, The Junior League of San Francisco partners with 4 local nonprofits to increase our impact in the community. Our community partners are Maitri SF, Florence Fang Community Farm, Compass Family Services, and Magic Tooth Bus. We provide various ways of support to our community partners throughout the year and we work closely with them to achieve their goals. Besides our community partners, we also provide volunteer assistance to multiple organizations throughout the city year after year. -- If you are purchasing your tickets individually but would like to be seated together, please do not hesitate to reach out to us and we will do our best to seat your party at the same table.
