Mark Governor: Most well known for his scores to films like “Pet Sematary 2” and “Notes From Underground”, the ubiquitous SpongeBob SquarePants track “Stadium Rave” (Jellyfish Jam), and his rock musical “shAme”, Mark Governor has also had a long and successful career as a songwriter and record producer, working with artists as diverse as Iggy Pop, Billy Preston, Kristian Bush, Katrina Lenk, Huun Huur Tu and Carmen Rizzo. His songs are lyrical, literate, character driven, often humorous and ironic in a genre-resistant repertoire of styles. From the slyly wistful “Dorchester Girl”, a tribute to his hometown of Boston, to the achingly beautiful “Interior of a Heart”, he takes listeners on a journey that celebrates the outsiders and misfits of the world, exploring the contradictions, heartbreaks and little victories of life with witty lyrics and memorable melodies that tickle your brain while they burrow into your heart.
